Question by Hunter9×9: Could I play college hockey at UVM?
Hey guys,
I was just wondering how I could get on a college hockey team (I’ve always wanted to play for UVM). I live in Georgia so you can imagine how much ice time i get, which is unfortunate. But I’ve been playing hockey for my whole life basically. I am in 9th grade and have been playing ice hockey (in a league) scince i was 9 and roller hockey scince 7th grade. This past season I could only play roller due to a broken foot. I plan on playing ice for a high school team for the 3 rest of my high school years (our school doesn’t have one… ) So I was wondering if it was at all possible to play hockey at UVM (or any college level for that matter) if I played both leagues for the rest of my time untill college.
Are there any open tryouts or do you need some type of connection? oh and I play defense if there’s any strict competition in defense or anything…
Thanks for your help and PLEASE email me with any extra helpful information that could help lead me towards my goal.

Whats UVM? do you mean U of M? You are a freshmen in high school already, so if you are playing in a league anything less than AAA I highly doubt you will get scouted to play for a DI college team. They don’t have open tryouts, they basically scout you and if you are good enough they will offer you a scholarship.

easily look up there Required GPA.
I am in 10th and I am trying to get into Michigan(2.8 gpa)
    or Liberty(no name school 2.0)
Just get your grades up if you dont have good grades now.
Then if your accepted to the college talk to the dean about trying out for the hockey team and he will give you the information to contact the coach if it is not on their website.
I would say you should be able to get in.
